i’m back!!!!

well, i didnt really remember when was the last time i wrote my last blog. my sister had bombarded me comments regarding this dying site… o well here’s one. just to say hi!!!! and i’m back….

well, few days before the start of 2nd semester. in no time i’ll be seeing myself taking the local boards and soon applying for NCLEX, and for hospital staffing. That’s how fast time is, just a few months ago i’m enrolling for the 1st semester and now few steps from graduating. Both relieved and nervous….. more of lifes challenges and offers… no sooner it’s not only quizzes and long exams but real patients and real hospital work. institutional policy , chief nurses and other staff nurses to to deal with. sure it will be tough but life is always like that, full of obstacles to finish and mountains to surpass.

this blog of hi turns out to be boring that ever…. before things gets worst, i’ll go bye bye….

till next post!!!!

the sonicflood experience!!!

Last August 15, the widely known Sonicflood had their concert here in Manila. Me and my sister were so excited about it, we ended up watching their concert. Actually the day after the concert will be my debate but whatever, this is a once in a lifetime event, i have to go no matter what.

As indicated in the ticket, the show will be starting at 8:00pm, but since they’re here in the Philippines…they had it OUR way…the concert started 8:45 i guess. As soon as the lights were dimmed or should i say turned off, everyone in the coliseum went crazy…..We all scream and shout for excitement….not knowing they have a front act. no offense, they did made a good job… But ofcourse we are all waiting for the SONICFLOOD….

They paused for a 15 minute break, and in between that a very inspirational Brother speak up in front of the stage, i actually forgot his name but i’m certain he is a MALE. very short story, but it left a very big mark on me. Actually helped me with the essay i’m workin’ on (hopin’ to win the prize). Well back on the concert, yeah the whole 15 minutes seemed to be a quick snap of a finger. Before we knew it, we are all standing, clapping and praising GOD.

Their Opening Song was amaizing, and as i was listening to Mr. Rick Heil’s voice i cant help but question myself (i havent thought of a voice as nice as his’), You may not agree but really he was given the voice that will not only be heard, but also can be felt. He keep on dancing and moving on the stage but his voice doesnt seem to change.

Here is it!!!

My personal favorite was when they sang I could sing of your love, heart of worhip, here i am to worship, open the eyes of my heart and cry holy. I cant help but lift my hands and cry….i didnt mind all the people that can see me, i just felt like i have to lift my hand, sing and praise him. That very moment all my worries, doubts, grudges, i give it all to him. I surrender everything… indeed it was not just a night of songs and dances, but a night of praise and worship.

I was very happy, i gave my night to worship and lift GOD above all. I had the greatest night of worship…thanks Sonicflood and for all the people that were there to praise GOD. . .

Here’s some of the videos…

(see those people in front with their hands lifted, i was exactly doing the same)

(very powerful song!!!to god be the glory!!!)

(everybody’s up on their feet!!!)

(hope there’s another concert here…)

a very inspirational Rick Heil…

After the concert, while were still in state of shock…we saw the line of people for picture and autograph, we didnt think twice. We immediately buy the last copy of their CD and lined up for the autographs…Luckily we had them signed our CD plus have some pixies… so sweet…

Here is it!!!

(me and my sister with Rick Heil)

(thanks for the great night of worship and for the autographs…)

fear factor…

people are scared and afraid of so many things, this can be with things, dark rooms, unfamiliar faces and places, closed areas or sometimes even for no apperent reason. I tried to question myself quiet a few times, was it a big harm to be scared? will you be less of a person when you’re afraid of something? does being scared or hesitant of something measure ones’ character and personality?

I am personally very scared of a lot of things, lets start with the very simple ones or for others they may termed it as “nonsense”. Insects?! spiders and cockroaches, yucky! (i can tolerate it, doesnt make me too hysterical). New places definitely afraid of it. Just the thought that i might get lost and be forever wandering is a total killer. New faces?! i must say a bit scared; i am the kind of person that is not that good with adjustments, it takes me months or even years to develop and establish a free and careless friendship. i am a bit hesitant to approach faces new to me, and a lot of times because of that habit “they think i am a snob and mataray”. Well cant blame them it’s something that i try too hard to change but it really takes time for someone to be a total different. i am scared of being hurt, making my parents disappointed and having nothing but myself. I have a lot of things in mind for the future, about to accomplish and about to outplay. there’s just too much; if i am to list all the things i am scared of it will take me forever!, meaning the ones that i already listed was just a few.

being scared, many will probably say its a normal response of the body to certain things, we are all people, we have weaknesses, we get scared. Actually its true, it’s something that we all happen to have in common. Others might disagree but well it’s better to be true and admit your weakness than project you’re perfect and that you’re not scared of anything (very inhuman).

there was once that i thought being scared of something is just being a coward. It’s just lately that i have this thought,

“being scared can mean you’re not yet ready of losing something, that you value a certain person, a thing, or a memory that was very close and dear to you. It doesnt always make you weak, sometimes it shows your strenght and compassion. That you’re not yet ready to lose that very special person in your life, you dearly cherish and care for”.

See it wasnt that bad being scared and sometimes being afraid, maybe it’s all about pushing yourself when it’s about to move on. Things should not be rushed and always fast paced, sometimes it should just be slow and smooth sailing (sabi ko nga yung swabe lang), just like with the wind and river flowing you dont have to paddle or flap a wing to move; simply breakfree and let loose.

Life is something that is quiet unexplainable and unpredictable, the things you thought would kill you will sometimes taught you the things in life that will help you become the greatest person you can ever be.

pinoy pride!

2 days before my duty (sucks i have to stay away from home for 3 days, my shift is too off…), why not make something before all the tough times. well i’m inspired by my last post “forever favorites”, now i’ll be writing more from the heart of a “Proudly Filipino”.

Here’s my list of the Pinoy Pride:

Everybody would probably agree that Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is a certified filipino pride. He had fought many times to raise the Philippine flag, he represents the country with great heart and dignity, he made it not only once but thrice as he got 3 belt titles in different weight level, and with his every battle he always want to win not only for himself but for all the Filipino people. His passion for boxing is undeniable that’s the reason why he had caught not only the hearts of us his kababayans but also with the other nations.

I’m personally not a very big boxing fanatic but i must admit i’ve had watched all of his fights (erik morales, hector velasquez, oscar larios, jorge solis, marco antonio barrera, juan manuel marquez), i must say like those of other typical filipino spectator i also jump and smile everytime he hits his oponent, and with every counter attack and punches i feel like being physically hurt (affected).

i am a proud Filipina and i am more proud that a young man known to a lot of people shares something alike with me, we are both Pinoy, lahi ni Jose Rizal at Andres Bonifacio.

Jasmine Trias, the first filipina to make it to the American idol (Camille Velasco another filipina in AI season3, but unlike Jasmine she got booted a little to early), that was the season American Idol was finally aired here in the Philippines. Basically for us to support our pinoy pride (we maybe unable to vote for her, but atleast we had a taste of her talent). She made a big statement by putting flower on her ear everytime she performs, that also increases her recall to the people watching. Unfortunately she’s unable to get the title but she still made the Filipino Proud by making it to top3. The whole Hawaii celebrated the jasmine Trias day, and that left a mark that will forever be in the American Idol History. That once in the Idol stage a filipina strongly represented the true pinoy talent

Ramiele Malubay, after Jasmine making it to the Idol stage another proud filipina wants a repeat. And certainly she did, she became one of the top 12 finalist (even got to top 9). As she said in earlier interviews, she wants to be the 1st Asian American Idol, but unfortunately that wasnt able to come true as she got booted a little too early than we all expected. But well, a lot of american loved her not only because of her beautiful and powerful voice but also because of his very good personality. A very humble yet proud singer, very sweet but also a fighter, her light and bubbly personality made everyone interested. Still a long way for this young filipina talent.

Allan Pineda Lindo, or APL (he was known for that abbreviation), a member of the well known group Black Eyed Peas. He’s one of the very proud filipinos who make it big in mainstream america. He’s very vocal about him having filipino blood, he even wrote a song in tagalog which was officially released, titled “the APL song” and Bebot ( a tagalog colloquial term for “girl”). When the group visited the country william and taboo wore “barong tagalog” ( our national dress ), they even wear it in their concert. Maybe those were very little things, but in reality not all are as proud and vocal as him, and that what makes him big, he’s not afraid but instread proud of his Pinoy side.

Billy Crawford, he’s known as one of the artistas from Mr. german morenos show “that’s entertainmnet”. Back then he was called Billy Joe, little kid dancing like michael jackson; he was dearly loved by the whole filipino crowd. And in a few years, the country just heard that his making it big in Europe. he started having his foreign carrer after being noticed in a talent contest. they were amazed bu his singing and dancing ability, from being “the saling pusa” in his first show he’s now europe’s biggest r&b star. singer of the hits bright lights, steamy nights, and my love. this proud pinoy did not only make it in the europe’s music business, he had it big his songs trackin’, and bright lights were in the top of their charts. he’s now in ABS-CBN’s show pinoy dream academy, serving as an inspiration not only to those scholars but in every filipinos.

Eric Spoelstra, he’s the first ever filipino NBA head coach. well i must say i am not very familiar with him (i do watch basketball, the local league and collegiates here in the philippines, not really into NBA). im sure hes good, the team he got into was no boy in basketball. shaq o’neal was once part of that team. another big step for the filipinos making it even in the NBA, from music to sports. we cartainly are very talented goup on individuals.

Arnel Pineda, the newest lead singer of the popular rock band “journey”. i am not very knowledgeable about him considering were both filipinos (if i am right he doesnt have any singles released in the philippines, and his band zoo sorry but havent heard of them). But that dosent mean i am not proud of him, i may not know him that well as a musician but another pride and talent, why not? how did i know he’s the newest lead singer of jorney? well…through e-mail, my tita based in the U.S had send me this link from the you tube, him singin’ the journey hits. i am not very particular with their songs but i must say he got this real nice voice. keep it up brother, make the filipinos proud!two thumbs up for you…

here’s his video

great voice!!!

that’s it for now, i’ll add up some more soon. I’ve had seen many pinoy talents making it big in other country. Just like them, all of us can make it big, in whatever career we want. All we need is the heart and passion, same as with them. they’ve never stopped believing in their dreams, and now the fruits of believing and working hard for the true desire of their hearts is the life they are living. They are way far from us because of the great success the’ve already achieved. And in the their footsteps beliefs and dreams will soon be born, they will forever be an inspiration for the filipino talents. Pinoy pride!!!

age doesnt matter…

how old were you when you started singin’ the Lord’s Prayer, me? i think 10 years old or even older. I had received this video via e-mail, a young asian kid was singin’ the Lord’s Prayer she’s 2 years and 8 months. Very cute and very interesting, while watching the video i cant help but be amazed, of course she still cant fully comprehend about what was she singin’, but atleast she had held sometime knowing the song. This just proves that you dont have to be the most intelligent and most beautiful to praise and lift God’s name, in our most little ways we can glorify his name.

Enjoy the video! thanks Zoei Toh

Just like this little girl in the video, who’s not afraid of making mistake (with the lines and how she sounds), who made a stand in her young age, and very proud let us all stand on what we believe, face our fears with confidence and praise him with all our hearts. It’s not how we look and sound, He see’s the Us within…

forever favorites!!!

another lazy day for me! after days of school work (papers to finish , exams to pass, recitations to go through, early morning routines and late night hard work), again plenty of leisure. while waiting for the sun to set and for me again to go to sleep, why not make another blog.

actually i don’thave anything in mind to start with, but let me share my Top 10 favorite musicians….

Creed, one of my all-time favorites, i think i started listening to their music when i was still in grade school (5th grade or 6th grade), their first song that i really liked is “higher”. i remember seeing it first on MTV, i  immediately got attached with everything about their sound. the concrete sound of guitar and the inspirational groove of the lyrics. Everything just fell into place, including the drums and the voice of scott stapp. few of my favorite songs of them are; higher, arms wide open, one last breath, dont stop dancing, and my sacrifice.

so sad that the group decided to split-up, if my memory is right in year 2004 (they do good music together), well they still do music just separately ( Scott Stapp has his own album, while mark tremonti and the other band members is on a new band called “alter bridge”).

’till now I’m still inspired and influenced by their beautifully written songs, sometimes things just to be different, but that doesn’t mean that everything around it will follow. true the band “CREED”, is now a history, but the footsteps it made will be forever there. Just like what Scott stapp say, “Passion breeds follower”.

you don’t have to be forever living to touch and inspire everyone, the little time is enough. It’s for the generation to live the passion you’ve had started, you might be surprise that the fire will be forever burning.

Jason Castro, i can say he’s my ultimate American idol. I’ve been watching AI since season 3 (1st time it was aired here in the Philippines), and since then i never really had super bet. Maybe i had (Elliott Yaminin season 5, unfortunately he also got booted off), but well both of them are now making their own names. Elliott Yamin has his own album and Jason will soon have his’ (i’m very excited to purchase one!).

The thing i love about jason’s music is that it’s very relaxing, and soothing. Perfect for a good rest, after a day of paper work and exams. His voice is not trying hard, just simply unique and perfect . Plus he sings from the heart (makes the song more lovely). Everything about him is just so cool from his music, personality, family, the way he treats his fans and his love for Christ. Basically that’s why a lot of people adore him, because he is so true and humble. He stays grounded, and level headed inspite of all the fame and attention his been getting.

the Good Charlotte, first heard them on MTV with their hit song “Hold On”, which turned out to be one of my personal favorites of all. their sound is a bit loud, but if you’ll listen closely to the lyrics, everything is skillfully written from the heart to touch everyone’s heart and soul. As you may see them, all tattooed and do dress like bad boys (always on black with eye liners on), but really their music is good (or maybe just for me).

have you ever tried listening to those you barely can tolerate (hard rock, classicals, jazz, hiphop, reggae etc…), at first i dont. I usually stick to the one’s that i really love, but when finally i did i find myself enjoying and learning. Sometimes we just have to try things, even if we are not sure we’ll enjoy it. Life is a piece of art to be explored, the things we are off to discover are the things that will make our journey worth living, trying things will give us experience that will make us better and wiser. We just have to remember that in every journey there are things to bring and things to leave, let us not waste the opportunity of growing. It’s not only in school that we learn.

Ray Lamontagne, i’ve had a separate post about him few weeks ago. He’s an american folk singer (he looks like a rocker but he’s definitely not), what made  me like him? he got this very unique voice, a very cool and mellow music that is very fit for slow driving. His also a very talented songwriter, his lyrics was just amazingly a very beautiful piece of art, very contempary. In this list that i am making actually if i will compare it to a human development he’s the BABY. he’s avery recent discovery, and i am still learning everything about his music….As i said earlier, its always nice to try something new, and this one is definitely new.

The hillsong Australia, basically i grew up listening to gospel music from those of Don Moen upto this new wave of gospel. I simply love their lyrics and rythm; very upto now yet very touching. Darlene is a very good music ministry leader, so true and heartfelt. But i can say that with this one i’m influenced by my sister (mona), she’s the one whose really into their music. I just caught myself one day loving each and every song they’re playin’, it’s like a daily davotion listening to atleast one of their songs. Plus listening to their song makes me feel like home (to our home church back in Bataan).

Here’s some of my personal favorites, christ above all…

NSYNC, cheesy you might say but well, i must admit really love this guys. I just find them really talented and cute (ofcourse, the time they were so popular, i think i’m still in grade school), but really they all have very nice voice. My personal favorite is Jc Chasez, his voice is so pure and manly (atleast for my ear). Got all their albums including the Christmas release, every collectors item i think i have it. Sad that i’m way too far from Orlando, Florida didnt got any chance of seeing them live in concert, but DVD’s almost feels like it. Some of my favorite NSYNC songs are: This I Promise You, Drive Myself Crazy, Sailing, Everything I Own, Selfish, and I thought she Knew.

Just think of it this way, someone’s seranading you and the song is ”Selfish” here’s the line “and if love is a crime baby then punish me i would die for you, cause i dont want to live without you, what can i do oooh yeah…” so sweet.

Well, that is so history, as we all know they are all separated and are on their own. Justin is making it big on R&B hitting the charts with his brand new singles, while Jc on the other hand is on a Dance Show produced by Randy Jackson, Joey has his own show the “singing bee”, Chris is on Broadway, and Lance maybe on the planet Mars (just joking) well he’s probably busy on his productions. everyone has their own lives, maybe not having the same fame when they were all together but, sure all of them are having the time of their lives. Happy with family, friends, and own careers.

Caedmon’s Call, first heard them with their single “Prove Me Wrong” and “Love Alone”, actually i overheard it from my sister (ate mona again). The song was so catchy and light that i instantly memorize it with just a few times listening to it. the angelic voice and the beautiful lyrics was mesmerizing and a very good eye opener, everything with the song is like a personal message, the feeling everytime i am listening to it is an overwhelming feeling. I simply love their song…

Here’s some of my favorites:

Twila Paris, another great singer-songwriter. Her song that will be forever my favorite is “how beautiful”, it was very heart felt i love everything about the song. Plus her voice amazing. Hoping to see her in person, she’s a revelation to everyone, has touched so many hearts and had turned stone to a piece of loving and trusting heart, she had touched so many.

Elliott Yamin, been rooting for him since his American Idol days, a very powerful and soulful voice. Since his AI days his heart while singing is overwhelming (maybe that’s the reason why, i wanted him to win), and until now he still pours out the same intensity and passion everytime he is on stage. He’s not afraid to show his feelings, he cry on stage and says I LOVE YOU to his mom in front of thousands of people (nice personality!). Plus he always stays humble and proud, he’s just amazingly talented and passionate. I love this guy (maybe not as my sister loves her, yeah my twin sister “yong” is dying everytime he’s on t.v), very sincere and pure, humble yet proud, warm to fans and a very loving son.

Phil Collins, a very talented singer. His voice is amazing, very timeless, and classy. songs for his voice is like a perfect fit. I remember him making this collaboration with NSYNC for Tarzan soundtrack, everything was just like scratches and mind made lyrics but still very pleasing to hear. I simply love his voice.

here’s a my favorites from him:

Thats’s it for my list (took me several days to finish, got school for days…), well atleast i’m able to do it. Just a little from my personal favorites…

he’s a Carly…

for a very long time, i’ve never had an ultimate crush (as far as i can recall, J.O. is my last victim), not until 3rd year college. Back in my sophomore year, i remember seeing him all over the campus but i never noticed his cute face and physique back then. Just find myself looking for him every breaks and dismissal at the start of 3rd year. i thought it was so cool that we both share the same class schedule (got the chance to spy on HIM…joke…). I saw him 2 days every week, though quiet little it’s okay.

Let me describe him. As i see him maybe he stands 5’9″, he looks fit ( feels like he’s been going to the gym), fair complexion, a littel chinky eyed, he seems to be quiet (just like me..hahaha!), and he belongs to the IN pilot sections (take a peek 904, 908, 928).

Just last may when we had this sleepover at jen’s place, i told my friends i had this new crush (i am very open with my very close friends, i can say anything….absolutely anything….), that he’s a nursing student (that we all share the same school “viva FEU”), and he’s included in the so called pilot sections. everyone started asking questions; whats his…name? how does he look like? etc? etc? I told them everything…then one of my friend (aia! thanks to you!!!) said, “parang kilala ko yun ah?! oo hindi sya pilot section nung first sem diba?! ngayong 2nd sem lang! oo bading yon eh, naging BF sya ng classmate ko kaso nagbreak sila dahil bading sya”. What???!!!! of course i’m in denial, but when things started to be stitched from our personal observation and judgement, …………i think he is a certified Carly.

i have nothing against the 3rd sex, i am just surprise that they can be so attractive and deceiving (bitter?!), ang mata nga naman! just sharing, well according to my very reliable source, he’s gone to the “land down under”, maybe there he can totally be free. compared to the philippines that country is more open and liberated.

happy father’s day

what can i say? maybe this years fathers day is not that special at all. for the first time in my 20 years of existence my dad is not there with us to celebrate. Not that he’s gone forever (just away because of work), but still it feels like somethings missing. it has been a family tradition to start sundays (may it be mother’s or father’s day or just an ordinary sunday morning) with a thanksgiving. We’ll all go to mass and say a prayer for everyone, actually me together with my mom and 2 older sisters as usual went to a weekly mass the only difference is on this very special Daddy’s Day my dad is not there with us (drama…overflowing).

I’ve always considered myself as Papa’s little girl, since i was a kid i always liked my dad as compared to my mom (just because mom is more strict or should i say she’s overly strict). we’ll watch t.v. together, he’ll peel off the apples and me and my sisters will feast on them, have a few little talks at dinner, or just together we’ll bathe “chow” (our ever beloved dog too bad he’s gone….sob…). Remembering those little things makes me cry everytime.

While growing up i never recall him taking us forgranted, though were not that financially stable he’s always been a very good provider. He’ll find all the possible ways to earn money for the whole family, that’s how good he is.

I remember him always being there in every step of the way, for sure we’re not the best daughters in the world but with the things that he had done for the four of us its like “we’re the most precious and rare piece of diamond”.

i just simply love my dad, he’s everything for me. the caring words he spoke everytime im in need were simply the comfort i was longing, his simple gestures of love and care though not spoken were very much affirming in the midst of storm and failure, the never ending support he always have for us since then, i could never ask for more. The simple smile shows how much proud he is for all the things we’ve had achieved, that is more than enough.

here’s some of our family pictures

Thanks papa for everything, i know I’ve failed you a lot of times, i am lost of count of the moments I’ve given you pain, but really thanks for everything. You’ve been the greatest dad in spite, sorry for everything. i cant promise never to cause you pain again, but i will try (promise). My only prayer to god is more years of life and happiness for the whole family.

P.S…dont worry i will never break the trust you’ve always given for me and ate…. love you….

ray lamontagne

just started listening to his music few weeks ago, and surprisingly i’m hooked with his cool, mellow, folk sound. In addition to this is the nicely written lyrics of his songs. i wasnt a very big fan of such genre, but listening to his music was unbelievably addicting, from his singles crazy to shelter to empty to all the wild horses and  to etc… etc…

actually i dont have much to say about him…it’s just that i am currently into his music and why not share it with everyone. His got a real talent in both writing and singing…. now i really want to learn playing the guitar (i wish i did listen to my mom and dad when they are encouraging me to learn back in my grade school days… i am regretting really hard) but well maybe i will never be as great as him, then better just appreciate and listen to them…

well since it’s kind of i really love this guys music, here’s him singing!!! enjoy folks…

his cover of crazy (my personal favorite!)
